Barclaycard US was again named one of the top places to work in Delaware, according to a survey of area employees sponsored by The News Journal, Delaware\'s largest circulation newspaper.
The "Best in the Business" list identifies the leading workplaces in Delaware based on the opinions of employees as gathered in online and written surveys. The results of the employee survey were compared across organizations to determine which companies earn the "Best in the Business" recognition.
"This year, factors rated most important were a strong belief that the company was headed in the right direction, faith in leadership and confidence in the firm\'s ability to execute. Tellingly, factors related to pay and benefits fell to the bottom of the importance rankings, while working conditions and communications climbed," according to an August 3 article in a special supplement of the newspaper announcing the companies named to the list.
Some 17,000 surveys were distributed to more than 100 Delaware companies that employ 35,000 workers -- an 8 percent sample of the state\'s workers. Fifty-seven percent of the surveys were completed and submitted.
Barclaycard US was ranked among the top in the large company category. BCUS also was ranked very high in the category of workplace conditions.
Barclaycard US also received this designation in 2007 and 2006.
