Deanna Oppenheimer, Chief Executive Officer of Barclays UK Retail Banking was named one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking in US Banker\'s 7th annual ranking.
In a year of upheaval, the 25 women stood out for their leadership, coolness under pressure and continued drive to innovate organizers said. Although it was challenging overall, the year did produce some advances for senior women executives with proven abilities to perform.
In ranking the women, the editors of US Banker consider factors like a nominee\'s job responsibility, management style, crisis-management skills, influence within the industry, and charitable endeavors are given strong consideration.
The 25 Most Powerful Women In Banking has grown from an influence ranking recognizing the business acumen, professional achievements and personal tenacity of top-performing women to include a community committed to fostering women\'s professional development, career advancement and peer-to-peer networking.
Deanna was honored at a ceremony in New York October 6.
