The Barclays Capital equity research group was voted number one in Institutional Investor magazine\'s poll of U.S. equity analysts for a second straight year.
The New York division had 46 analysts who were voted to the magazine\'s first, second and third teams or achieved "runner up" status, compared with 45 in 2008. Barclays acquired Lehman Brothers Holdings in 2008. Lehman analysts had won the top spot for five straight years before the purchase last September. Barclays Capital had 12 analysts considered the best in their field.
The magazine collected responses from more than 3,000 investors and money managers at 890 equities providers. The following is the ranking of the top 10 Institutional Investor\'s annual All-America Equity Research Team poll:
