Barclays has published its Annual Report 2008. It gives details of Barclays performance and key financial information for the year. A shorter version of the report, the Annual Review 2008, has also been prepared.
The report has been developed online to include videos of the senior management team talking about the performance in 2008 and the outlook for 2009.
In his foreword, Barclays Group Chairman Marcus Agius writes "The business is committed to creating the conditions to allow the share price to recover and to resume dividend payments in the second half of 2009."
Group Chief Executive John Varley adds "We thank our customers and clients for the business they directed to Barclays in 2008. High levels of activity on their behalf have enabled us to register substantial profit generation in difficult conditions.
"Our priorities in 2008 were and remain to stay close to our customers and clients; to manage our risks; and to progress strategy."
