Barclaycard Waterslide Television Advertisement Back on Air in U.K.

Following the successful debut of the Barclaycard Waterslide ad last year, today sees its return to our screens. The ad will feature in the 10:30 p.m. commercial break during Channel 4\'s Celebrity Big Brother final.  

This second wave of activity moves into full swing on Saturday January 31 with 30- and 60-second TV advertisements running until March 6. The campaign will be supported by consumer and recruitment press activity. A competition will be launched on January 31 on YouTube which invites users to create their own version of the ad for the chance of winning an amazing prize 

In the coming weeks, colleagues and schools in the communities around Barclaycard sites will be offered the opportunity to enter a further competition designed specifically for them.  

Advertising in the last quarter of 2008 performed extremely well, proving to be the most successful campaign in recent years with credit card sales exceeding expectations. Additionally, research showed that consumers felt more positively about the brand, as well as Barclaycard\'s ability to be innovative and make payments simple. The target of 1 million views online was exceeded in just five weeks, and the ad now has over 100,000 ‘friends\' on Facebook. The campaign also attracted acclaim from industry experts, with the ad being named in the top 10 for 2008 by both Campaign magazine and The Independent.
