Lloyd M. Wirshba
Chief Executive Officer

As Barclaycard US Chief Executive Officer, Lloyd is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the US credit card business.

Lloyd joined Barclays in 2007 from ICT Group, Inc., a global customer management and business process solutions company. He held the position of Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing and Administrative Officer.

Prior to working at ICT Group, Inc., Lloyd spent 21 years at American Express, where he worked in many areas, including finance, operations and marketing/sales, and business development, both on the card and merchant sides of the business. He also spent two years at Time Warner’s AOL subsidiary and was responsible for managing the organization of more than 12,000 customer care consultants across the globe.

Lloyd holds a master’s in business administration in finance from New York University. He recently relocated from northern New Jersey to the Wilmington area.


Antony Jenkins
Barclaycard Chief Executive

As Chief Executive of Barclaycard, Antony is responsible for carrying out the strategic plans and policies of Barclaycard US.

Although Antony officially started as Chief Executive in 2006, he began his financial career with Barclays back in 1983. That was when he completed the Barclays Management Development Program before going on to hold various roles in retail and corporate banking.

He returned to Barclays from Citigroup, where he had worked since 1989 in a number of roles based in London and New York. As General Manager and Executive Vice President, he was responsible for most of Citi Cards, with $90 billion in receivables.

His portfolio included Platinum, Universal Cards, Drivers Edge, Dividend, Diamond AAdvantage, Small Business, Premier Pass, and College.

Antony was educated at Oxford University and has a master’s in philosophy, politics, and economics. He also has an MBA from Cranfield Institute of Technology.


Joe Purzycki
Chief Operating Officer

As Barclaycard US Chief Operating Officer, Joe is responsible for all operational aspects of the business, including Customer Care, Bank Operations, Customer Support, and Marketing Operations.

He worked as Chief Administrative Officer for Juniper Bank from 2000 to 2001 and has 16 years of experience in the credit card industry. In addition, Joe worked in various roles for MBNA, First USA, and JPMorgan Chase. His most recent position was Executive Vice President, New Business Development and Sales for Chase Card Services.

Joe has a master of education administration degree and a bachelor of science degree in education from the University of Delaware.


Sabrina Basht
Managing Director, Strategic Alliances

As Managing Director, Strategic Alliances, Sabrina is responsible for securing all new co-branded partnerships at Barclaycard US.

Sabrina has more than 15 years experience in partnership and marketing at several larger credit card issuers, including First USA Bank, Wachovia, and JP Morgan Chase. She has held senior leadership roles, including Director of Customer Marketing, Small Business Card Marketing. In addition, Sabrina was responsible for marketing and relationship management for numerous co-branded programs, including the United Airlines program.

Sabrina graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in communications from West Chester University and is a graduate of the Executive Leadership Program from UNC Chapel Hill.


Megan Basilio
Managing Director, Customer Lifecycle Marketing

As Managing Director, Customer Lifecycle Marketing, Megan is responsible for new customer acquisition across all marketing channels, customer communications, and the development of loyalty and rewards strategies.

Megan has more than 15 years of experience in all aspects of credit card marketing, including acquisitions, student marketing, portfolio conversions, and new product development. Prior to Barclays, she worked for several large issuers, including Bank of New York, First USA, and Bank One.

Megan has a bachelors of science in business from the University of Delaware.

 

Michelle Bottomley

Chief Marketing Officer

Michelle is the chief marketing officer at Barclaycard US. She is responsible for all of Barclaycard US marketing efforts and initiatives, including oversight of targeted acquisition marketing programs for our partnership and open market card products, existing cardmember marketing throughout the customer lifecycle, marketing analytics and internal and external communications.

Prior to joining Barclays, Michelle was with Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, where she served as Chief Operating Officer, Ogilvy New York. She spent 11 years at Ogilvy and OgilvyOne leading key targeted marketing initiatives on behalf of American Express, Barclays Global Investors, Cisco Systems, DuPont, Sears, AFLAC, Continental Airlines and Yahoo!, among others.

Prior to Ogilvy, Michelle was vice president-Database Marketing at Epsilon. She began her marketing career at Bronner Slosberg Humphrey (now Digitas). Prior to that she was a business analyst in the corporate research department at Liberty Mutual Insurance in Boston.

Michelle holds a BS in Biology and a BA in Economics from Northeastern University.

 


Barney Briggs
Chief Financial Officer

Barney is the chief financial officer of Barclaycard US. He is responsible for the oversight, tracking and maximation of the financial contribution of the business, including financial plan development, revenue enhancement efforts, expense optimization initiatives, financial reporting, accounting, treasury and financial audits.

Barney has two decades of experience in income statement management, investment decisioning, audit, compliance, acquisition analytics, financial reporting and vendor/partner contract negotiation for an array of financial institutions.

Prior to joining Barclaycard US, Barney was with Citigroup where he served as senior vice president-senior director of the American Airlines AAdvantage business. Previous to that position, Barney served as CFO of Citi's Travel & Business Strategic Unit. He was also vice president for Private Label-Oil Planning & Control. Before his tenure with Citi, Barney worked at NationsCredit as vice president of Planning and Control for 300 consumer branch locations and served as Corporate Information Services controller. He also worked at Lomas Mortgage in financial analysis and began his career at The Adair Advisor Group.

Barney holds a bachelor's degree in Finance from Southwest Texas State University. 

                                                                           

Steve Carp
Chief of Staff

As Managing Director, Finance, Steve is responsible for accounting and financial control, financial planning, budgeting, reporting and analysis, treasury and cash management activities for Barclaycard US.

Steve joined Barclaycard US in October 2000 as the company's Treasurer. Over the past seven years, he has worked in various roles in the Finance and Corporate Development organizations. Steve has more than 20 years experience in the financial services industry working for organizations including Sears, Roebuck and Co., MBNA and Ernst and Young.

Steve received an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Chicago and a bachelor's in accounting from the University of Delaware.


Kathleen Kreusch Cobb
Chief People Officer

As Barclaycard US Chief People Officer, Kathy oversees all staffing, compensation and benefits, organizational development, employee relations, policy design, and colleague communications. She is also responsible for long-term planning and day-to-day operations of the bank’s facilities.

Prior to Barclaycard US, she served as head of Corporate Human Resources at First USA, where she was responsible for the human resource function for all corporate departments encompassing 2,500 employees. Kathy has spent 20 years in positions of progressive responsibility inside the field of Human Resources, including positions as Head of Human Resources, Digital Cable Radio Associates/MUSIC CHOICE and seven years as Director of Human Resources for the General Instrument Corporation.

She holds an MBA from Temple University and a BA from Moravian College.


Colin Graham
Managing Director, Business Strategy and Corporate Development

As Chief of Staff, Colin assists the CEO on the management, strategy, planning, and oversight of the business. He interfaces globally with Barclaycard on cluster-wide initiatives and governance requirements, and is responsible for coordinating critical processes and communication across the organization.

Colin joined Barclaycard US in 2006 as a Senior Director, Corporate Development. Prior to that, for four years he worked for Barclaycard in the UK in a variety of strategy and business development roles, including leading the acquisition and integration of Juniper in 2004. Colin has previously worked for Merrill Lynch, KPMG, and Accenture Consulting.

Colin holds and MA in computer science from Cambridge University and an MBA in finance from City University, London.


Tom Karinshak
Managing Director, Customer Care and Bank Operations

As Managing Director, Customer Care and Bank Operations, Tom is responsible for the overall strategy and leadership of both areas. Tom and his team work closely with all departments to ensure that Barclays exceeds customers' expectations for quality, service, and operational effectiveness.

Prior to Barclaycard US, Tom spent eight years at AOL Time Warner. He has extensive experience in customer service, cross selling and retention, as well as marketing and personnel management. Tom also had a distinguished military career, serving as a Combat Engineer Captain in the United States Army. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and received his masters in engineering management from the University of Missouri-Rolla.


Jeffrey Meiler
Managing Director,
Middle Market

As Managing Director, Middle Market, Jeffrey is accountable for Barclaycard US’s middle market activities, including account acquisition and credit strategy for the near-prime customers.

He joined Barclaycard US in 2004, after serveing as Managing Director of Barclays UK Retail Partnership Business. Jeffrey has more than 13 years of experience in Middle Market Consumer Lending at Barclays, Citigroup, and The Associates.

Jeffrey received an MBA with a concentration in finance from the University of South Carolina and a BA in economics from Franklin and Marshall College.


Kevin Murphy
Managing Director, Collections

As Managing Director, Collections, Kevin is responsible for the managing the collection of consumer debt owed to Barclaycard US.

Kevin and his team ensure that a well-trained operations group is in place to affect debt collection, create and execute various collection strategies to mitigate credit losses, and ensure investment in next-generation technologies to enhance the collection process.

He joined the organization in 2002 after 12 years as the Executive Vice President/Director of Collections at First USA Bank. Kevin has more than 30 years of collections and credit risk management experience. Prior to First USA, he spent 18 years in senior management collection positions at American Express, Mellon Bank, and J. C. Penney Company.

Kevin received a BS in management from Robert Morris University.


Ron Robine
Chief Credit Officer

As Chief Credit Officer, Ron is responsible for the overall direction of the business’s risk management function. This includes the credit and fraud policy for new and existing customers, and our credit and fraud operations.

Ron has more than 25 years of marketing, credit, and fraud experience within the financial services industry. He has worked for organizations such as NationsBank, Bank of America, and Bank One. At Bank One, he served as Chief Consumer Risk Officer responsible for managing risk strategy, policy, and processes for all mass-market consumer and commercial products.

Ron received an MBA from Indiana University and bachelor of business administration degree from University of Michigan.

 

Philip Steitz
Chief Information Officer

As Chief Information Officer, Phil is responsible for overseeing the development and management of the Business and Technology Group. He manages enterprise-wide technology strategy, systems selection and management, information management, application development, implementation of innovations, technology operations, information security, Web services, IT architecture, technology vendor oversight and technical leadership for Barclaycard US.

Phil joined the company from American Express where he served in a variety of technology and information management positions -- most recently as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. During his nine-year tenure at American Express, Phil led the introduction of numerous technology innovations.

Previous to American Express, Phil held various technical and management positions at Intelligroup, Entersoft Systems (now BEA systems), Financial Dynamics and Target Systems Development. He also served as Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science at Beloit College where he was named "Teacher of the Year" in 1992, Graduate Fellow at the University of Maryland and analyst for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

He holds a doctorate in mathematics from the University of Maryland and a bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Beloit College. He serves on a variety of boards including Sun Microsystems Executive Advisor Council, Microsoft Interoperability Executive Advisory Council and the Intel Board of Advisors.


Kevin Sullivan
Managing Director, Communications

As Managing Director, Communications, Kevin oversees media relations and employee communications.

Previously at Barclaycard US, Kevin worked in business development -- signing up new card partners.

Prior to joining the company in 2005, Kevin served in a variety of relationship and sales roles at JPMorgan Chase. Previously, he worked in business development for the merchant acceptance group at MasterCard International in Purchase, NY. Before that, he served in marketing at American Express Co. in New York. He also worked at advertising and public relations agencies in New York and Hilton Head Island, SC.

He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina.


Clint Walker
General Counsel

As General Counsel, Clint is responsible for the legal, compliance, regulatory, government relations, corporate secretarial, corporate governance, community reinvestment, and community affairs functions of Barclaycard US.

Clint has 21 years of experience in financial services, including serving as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Director of Community Affairs at First USA. For 11 years at Citicorp, Clint directed legislative and regulatory efforts on consumer issues in the United States and Europe, and served as General Counsel for Citibank (Maryland). Prior to banking, Clint was a litigator.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers and serves on the American Banker Association Card Policy Council and MasterCard’s Lawyers Committee. Clint received his JD from Georgetown University Law Center and a bachelor’s degree from Tufts University.


Scott Young
General Manager, Partnerships

Scott is responsible for driving the strategy and profitability of the thriving partnership business at Barclaycard US, including leading the Strategic Alliances and Partner Management teams.

Scott has more than 17 years of experience in consumer lending. He joined Barclaycard US from GE Consumer Finance, where he most recently served as President and Chief Executive Officer of its Personal Finance business. His responsibilities there included managing the agent bank, affinity, and direct to consumer credit card programs as well as several lending partnerships with high-profile retailers. In addition, he managed non-card consumer lending products, including home, personal, auto, and student loans and a savings product. Prior to GE, Scott spent 12 years at MBNA (now Bank of America), where he held positions in marketing, business development, operations, and risk and managed the Wachovia credit card partnership, one of MBNA's largest partnership portfolios at the time.

Scott holds an MBA from Villanova University and a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University.
