Take a glimpse into the lives of our colleagues on the Barclaycard US Blog. Here, they share everything from what they did last weekend to who had a baby and what restaurant they recommend for a special night out.

While Barclaycard US is headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, we actually have a few other sites around the country, including our newest site in Wilton, Maine. The first new hire class started in Wilton in the spring and the site was totally up and running by July. One of my colleagues here in Human Resources, Ryan, is in charge of hiring for the Maine site. I had the opportunity to travel with him to Maine in June for some interviewing and hiring activities. This was my first trip to Maine, and as I'm originally from rural Wisconsin, it reminded me of home. One major difference is that while Wisconsin is full of deer, Maine is full of its bigger-boned cousin, the Moose. Being accustomed to keeping my eyes peeled for deer while traveling down winding country roads, I watched the edges of the woods and foggy clearings for moose while Ryan drove the car. Ten minutes couldn't have passed before I spotted a big, burly moose at the edge of a wooded area. By the time I spotted him and squealed "Moose!" we had zoomed by, and the moose was out of sight. This was Ryan's third or fourth trip to Maine, and he still hadn't seen a moose. He was pretty disappointed that he had missed seeing the Moose, but he was optimistic and was sure he would see one soon. I have to commend him for his positive thinking. However...weeks went by and turned into a month or two and Ryan's anticipation to see a moose grew. At the same time, his contacts in Maine (very friendly people!) continued to send him cards, figurines, and stuffed animals- all of moose, of course. He even got up at the crack of dawn to drive up into the mountains just to see moose...to no avail. Considering he had spent so much time in the state of Maine, I was starting to think that the Moose of Maine had blacklisted Ryan and were not going to show up anywhere near where he was. Finally, just a few weeks ago, Ryan saw his first moose. I hear that the excitement was high and he was quite shocked at the size of the moose, until one of the Maine natives in the car with him laughed and told him he was looking at a baby. The rest of the moose family slowly came into view, and before him stood two giant moose, plus the baby. The moose of Maine have accepted Ryan and Barclays just as warmly as the great people who live there.
